German darkwave heros Diary of Dreams are pivoting to a minimalist «the electronic duet» format for international touring to combat unsustainable post-pandemic logistical costs.

This stripped-down lineup, featuring Adrian Hates and Felix Wunderer, allows the band to bypass high expenses while keeping global shows alive without disbanding their traditional full lineup.
«Due to rising costs for flights, hotels, travel and staff, concerts are often no longer financially viable, and promoters have increasingly refrained from bookings. However, playing even fewer international concerts was simply no longer an option for me; after all, it has always been a highlight of our calling. The only possible solution was to downsize our team for now to reduce costs - and to make a virtue out of necessity.»
Adrian Hates and Felix Wunderer will therefore be performing on international stages as an electronic duet, showcasing the purely electronic «back to the roots» side of Diary of Dreams. This way, concerts will be possible again in countries where playing live would no longer be feasible otherwise. The band as such, in its usual full lineup, will of course continue to exist. Only when concert announcement says «Diary of Dreams - the Electronic Duet» they will perform as a duo, all other concerts will be performed as full band.
