After eight years, the legendary pioneers of electronic music Germans Kraftwerk made a triumphant return to Belgrade with their new Multimedia Tour 2026.
Their massive open-air performance at the Luka Beograd Open Air Corner, organized by Long Play, transformed Belgrade industrial harbor into a monumental digital canvas where sound and light fused into a single living organism. And a cool river breeze refreshed the massive crowd in the July heat.
Signature laser geometry and gigantic screens turned the Danube riverbank into a futuristic art installation. The rugged port landscapes provided the perfect natural backdrop for the Kraftwerk industrial aesthetic. Crystal-clear synthesizer passages and dense piercing bass were flawlessly engineered for the open-air environment.
The irreplaceable Ralf Hütter — now the sole remaining original member of the group — proved once again that his futuristic prophecies from half a century ago sound more relevant today than any modern mainstream music. Even though the group has been touring with this core multimedia show for nearly 14 years, this performance had a distinct vibe. This was no ordinary nostalgic show; the group delivered a monumental audiovisual manifesto, though this time they arrived without the usual 3D effects. Even skeptics who typically criticize electronic artists for static live performances stood frozen in awe at the colossal scale of the sonic architecture and visual imagery.
