Pet Shop Boys: live @ Live 8 Russia |
Moscow is the final of the G8 nations to announce a «Live 8» show. Legendary British electro-pop band Pet Shop Boys are set to headline Moscow's «Live 8» concert in Red Square on July 2nd, 2005. It takes the total number of concerts on July 2nd across the globe to 10, one in each of the G8 nations, one in South Africa and a smaller gig in Cornwall. The concerts, aimed at raising awareness of global poverty, have been timed to coincide with the G8 summit of world leaders in Scotland on July 6th.
Russian bands including Bravo, B-2 and Spleen will perform alongside the Pet Shop Boys in the heart of Russian capital from 6pm.

Synthphony Records is running a remix contest for an upcoming release of German synthpop band !distain. Everybody are able to remix «You Mean Everything», track original version of which appeared on the 1995 Maxi CD release, «Confession» (via Chrom Records). The remix kit will be online until July 20th, 2005. All submissions must be in by August 1st, 2005. The winning remix will be announced on August 8th, 2005. You can enter as many remixes as you like. Send them in the form of an audio CD to Synthphony Records, PO Box 150294, Kew Gardens, New York 11415, USA. The winner will have his/her remix included in the «Synthphony REMIXed!: !distain» CD. As we were just informed, De/Vision's new album will be called «Subkutan» and will be released on January 16th, 2006.
The songwriting itself is nearly finished, but the production of the new songs will continue until September 2005. Regarding the sound and style of the new album, Steffen and Thomas don't want to tell anything at the moment, but they said that there will be the one or more suprises.
Ulrike Rank will be responsible for the CD artwork again.
The scheduling for the forthcoming tour is still in progress - it will start in April 2006.

Good news from Rammstein! As said at their official web site, recently they began mixing of new album, set to release in September this year.
New album will contain 7-8 songs, recorded during «Reise, Reise» sessions. Other songs were recorded in Berlin in March and April. So album will contain 11 songs as always.
Possibly, first new single from upcoming new album will be track «Benzin».
Title for new album is not defined yet, working title is «Reise weiter». Maybe it will be named as «Benzin» with sub-title «Die Reise geht weiter» («Trip is continue»)
Other news: band finally decided not release any new singles from «Reise, Reise».

This compilation will include not only collection of hit singles of all their history («Firestarter», «Breathe», «Poison», «Girls» etc), but also collection of rare and unreleased tracks, and even some brand new tracks. Special edition include bonus DVD, containing all promo videos, live concert, recorded in 2004, and many other additional materials.
Also they will release remix complilation, and maybe a single - «Wake Up Call (Full Rap Version)» - re-worked version from «Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned». In support of this release they will play at some festivals in Europe and UK. In Japan this album will be titled simply «Greatest Hits» and will out on August 10th.

Today in Düsseldorf, Germany on special press conference Depeche Mode announced their World Tour 2005/2006, their first in almost five years. The band will be showcasing tracks from their eagerly anticipated new album (produced by Ben Hillier), as well as performing some of their greatest hits.
One of the biggest bands in the world today, and renowned for their groundbreaking live performances, this Depeche Mode concert series will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of touring.
Prior to their European Tour, Depeche Mode will undertake a six week North American Tour autumn 2005, before heading to Europe in 2006.
