On January 31st, 2005 Marc Almond released new live DVD titled «Sin Songs: Torch & Romance: Live At The Almeida» (cat. no.: DEMONDVD002)
Act OneIn other news from Marc: he has just returned from Russia where he has recorded four new tracks for a special Russia only release of «Heart On Snow».
Marc returns to hospital on Saturday to have what is hoped will be the final operation on his shoulder. This will hopefully allow more movement of his right arm which is currently very restricted. The plans for a concert in the Spring appear to have been a bit optimistic and he won't be able to return to performing until a later date. There are no plans at present as it is not known how long it will take for Marc to recover enough to be able to undertake live performing.

[ 12.02.2005 ] - News from VNV NationThe first new VNV Nation single «Chrome» will be released as an Internet single on March 7th. In Europe it will be exclusively available from iTunes, Musicload and from VNV Nation Homepage. It should be available from all major portals in North America.
New album «Matter and Form» will be released in Europe on April 4th (via Anachron Sounds) and in North America on April 12th. This time Ronan worked alongside German producer Humate who co-produced, engineered and mixed the album. Ronan feels this is the best and most comprehensive VNV Nation release to date.

In a statement at official Curve web site, Toni Halliday and Dean Garcia confirm the end of Curve. Both have plans to work on solo material in the future but apparently, Curve is dead and buried.

In late January U2 announced that they will open the first leg of their «VERTIGO//2005» world tour in San Diego on March. «VERTIGO//2005» will visit 13 cities in North America before arriving in Brussels on June 10th for the first of 24 scheduled European performances, finishing up in Lisbon in the middle of August.
Kings of Leon will play support in the North American shows.

Covenant, the Swedish electronic music pioneers, are breaking their silence after almost three years. The band announced that Eskil Simonsson, Joakim Montelius and Clas Nachmanson have been working on a new album since autumn 2004. The new album's title is «Skyshapers» and should be ready for a September release this year. The record is being parallel-engineered in Berlin and Helsingborg, and give high expectations for a new milestone. The last Covenant record «Northern Light» was released in Summer 2002.

[ 07.02.2005 ] - New live DVD from Front 242!As we informed by record label Alfa Matrix, «Catch The Men», new Front 242 live DVD, goes onsale via online only. As band says, «The release of this live DVD is more a 'thank you' to the band's loyal fans than an official product to be sold via the usual distribution channels.» DVD is released by Alfa Matrix in collaboration with Front 242's own «Art & Strategy» label.
The «Catch The Men» DVD was recorded live on August 4th, 2004 at the Lokerse Feesten, Belgium. Tracklisting includes such Front 242 classics as «Body to Body», «Im Rhythmus Bleiben», «First in First out», «Moldavia», «HeadHunter» and other great tracks!

Singer Marc Almond has performed on stage for the very first time since he was critically injured in a motorcycle accident in October 2004. The results of the crash were more than devastating, the singer fractured his skull in two places, shattered his right shoulder, perforated his eardrum and suffered a collapsed lung. He also suffered two massive blood clots which caused his head to swell and had to undergo emergency surgery twice. After 3 months already Almond, who celebrated his 25 years in music business last year, made his live comeback at Vienna's «Life Ball» at the weekend. In an interview with the BBC he admits he is still not fully fit. The Soft Cell frontman is still recovering from his injuries after the crash that left him unconscious for 10 days. The singer will have a further operation this month and he still doesn't have full use of his right arm. Almond, 48, also added that chances are that a select number of Soft Cell shows may take place later in the year. The band apparently also plans to enter the studio again. First off is the release of a solo live DVD entitled «Sin Songs, Torch And Romance», a live performance recorded last year.

On May 30th, 2005 German dark wave legends Project Pitchfork will release their 7th studio album «Kaskade». A week before this fans will be able purchasing new album in MP3 format. On June 6th this album will be released as limited vinyl edition.
In other news: also at the moment band is working on soundtrack for a documentary by Russian producer Michael Ignashov. In the same time various Russian electronic musiciants are working on first ever Russian tribute album for Project Pitchfork.
