BRIEF INFO

SHOUT! Online is an actual web version of indie music magazine – SHOUT! – one of the leading Russian fanzine for synthpop/electro scene, established on May 9th, 1996 in Moscow, Russia.

Originally it was intended for such Depeche Mode fans, who listened to many synthpop/electro bands too. So it isn’t strange that it’s complete original title was «SHOUT! for Depeche Mode lovers».

Initially SHOUT! was fully hand-made and printed with a rather low quality standards. However the little fanzine slowly but surely kept growing (from few pages to 36 or more, from crapped pictures to very clear and so on).

In between 1996 - 2001 there were released 12 standard issues plus a lot of promos. The magazine was in Russian and contained some features, news, release info, tour dates, reviews, articles, and more. We printed each issue up to 800 copies. Very shortly SHOUT! became known in every nook of Russia, it could be purchased on various DM conventions, DM parties and via subscription.

On August 15th, 1997 SHOUT! goes online via it's own homepage at Geocities. The online version was for promotional use only, therefore it represented base materials from each original SHOUT! issue. We took off some materials, photos etc. - they remained in paper version only, 'cos putting the whole edition in web form was a very difficult task for us. After going online SHOUT! began to be recognizable all over the world ranging from Germany, Sweden, Spain, Italy, and crossing the Atlantics to America, Canada, Brazil and Argentina.

Unfortunately no issue has been released since the Issue 12 (September 2001). It's very difficult to release an independent music magazine at present days. Most of our colleagues around world have such problems as well. We tried to find a solution... and it became a real revolution for us and our fanzine!

Instead of very expensive and hard to managed printed version in March 2002 we started to do the new, free, always accessible version of SHOUT! called simply SHOUT! Online, which has a very easy short address - www.shout.ru. The main aim of the new website is to be easily and internationally accessible, to provide hot news and exclusive information. As an additional convenience people can reach SHOUT! Online in language they prefer - Russian (for Russia and C.I.S.) or English (world wide).

Very soon SHOUT! Online turned into original electro magazine, full of info and materials. Within only two years www.shout.ru achieved success, as place where all music fans go to find various actual information about their favorite bands, such as Depeche Mode, De/Vision, And One, Mesh, Melotron, Rammstein, The Cure, Garbage, Madonna, and many many others! We try to cover a large variety of electronic music, from synthpop to industrial, from pop electronica to electro alternative, so everyone could find something interesting.

Just one click on our Select Your Favorites bar, and you are on the edge of events related to chosen artist. Also easy to use SHOUT! Navigator left menu bring you directly to the information you search for.

Hot News, our special interviews and photo reports in our Exclusives section, detailed Releases and Tours information, – it’s just a little bit from that large amount of information you can find on our website updated mostly in daily basis.

SHOUT! Online is the official media partner for the promotion of various events, parties and concerts. Most of them have our regular information support and coverage.

In October 2005, the SHOUT! Online website counted 26,664 unique visitors and 64,477 hits from 47 countries from the whole globe. We have daily traffic up to 2,000 unique visitors and up to 8,000 hits.
